Daniel Dream's hotel room
NYC, New York
Daniel, wearing a red shirt and red gym shorts, sat on the end of hotel bed with his back against the pillows. Daniel stared vacantly at the hotel's television as he picked up the remote and turned it on.
The room descends into a hush after a flurry of footsteps, seemingly up some stairs out of my view. A solitary knock at the door. Daniel opens the door and an older man, wearing a black shirt and pants, enters the hotel room. Lee Matthews gives his adoptive son a quick hug and silent enters the hotel room. Lee sits down next to Daniel on the hotel bed before looking at the news report on the television.
"You feeling depressed?"
"It hurts."
"Actually, I guess I've been feeling nostalgic for certain things. Old friendships I used to really value, for one. It's ok, I'm all in for my friends who ride or die. Shit happens, I suppose. I'm thankful for my best friends. No matter what happens, they're always there for me."
Lee smirks, he immediately reaches up with remote in hand to turn off the television.
"Your delusions are taking over."
The television is turned off as the joke, the comment, just hit too close to home for Daniel. The wrestler hadn't told his adoptive father about the two men yet. The large man, wearing a yellow and half black mask, that has suddenly appeared to Daniel’s left side along with the leather man that has suddenly appeared to Lee’s right side.
"You know you should be in The Slaughterhouse Gym training instead of watching news reports of the past because if you constantly live in the past, you will cease to live in your future."
"You're in Trinity Wrestling and you won your first round match in the Trinity Revival World Championship Tournament, upwards and onwards, right?"
"My next opponent in the Trinity Revival World Championship Tournament is Evan-lee Chase, an orphan like me, she says she can't be intimidated but if I prey on emotion and the past then I'm gonna start my way to the top!!!"
"You didn’t learn to prey on emotion and cheat from me. I taught you better than that."
"You're better than whoever taught you that."
Daniel and Lee sat in silence after Daniel's uncontrollable outburst, the silence is telling, the two still finding small-talk a little bit uncomfortable. Daniel would be the first to get up instead of Lee because of his desire to get out of the room without letting him know the truth.
Slaughterhouse Gym
NYC, New York
Daniel slowly walked into his gym. Cowardvore and the leather man suddenly appear in the gym.
"When you go to gyms you bring your dad with you, unacceptable, also I am only seeking to win in this match through extreme and brutal measures if I have to."
“I want to win the Trinity World Championship, you two have always had my back! It’s just a small thing in comparison.”
“Believe in me.”
“You’re the best man I know.”
"Thanks for always believing in me."
“We just want you to know we’re proud of you and hope you are too.”
Daniel said a quick prayer and headed to the closet.
On Camera
Daniel Dream, wearing his yellow bodysuit, sits in a corner of the gym's ring. The black circles for eyes stare into the camera.
"Evan-lee Chase, you wish that I took down Cancel Culture, that's a very specific wish."
"I told the representative of Cancel Culture, that they'll look back at the moment they put their hands on me as the biggest mistake of their life. Cancel Culture agreed, it was a mistake on their end, so they forfeited the match.”
"I wanted to become the top guy, the top wrestler, the hero here but what if I want it more?"
"You see you woke up a side of me that will sink to any level to get what he wants, who doesn't care how many backs he bruises to step on to get to the top!"
Daniel shakes his head a little, before bringing his mask closer to the camera.
"You pride yourself on perseverance…you’re going to keep fighting until you’re at my level but I plan on making sure that you soon realize NO ONE is on my level."
Daniel starts breathing heavily, he points at the camera for a second.
"This match is worth your time because you’re fighting against someone as formidable as me and will come out the other side but I've been in matches where all that remains is a battered man, fresh off a battle. Blood trickled down battered and bruised flesh. You think I'll be a stepping stone for you because you've never had any success of your own to stand upon? I won't. I already died in Portland so that way I could live forever everywhere else. I live, a little worse for the wear? Yeah, but I'm alive nonetheless. How much of yourself are you willing to let me rip and tear away before deciding it isn’t worth it anymore?"
"I've no more wounds to bear, no more blood to trickle. It's all you now."
"We're going to give the people a match worthy of their time, at least, we'll never forget your brave battle."
“Finally to my opponent that I'll fight against in the finals of this tournament, my time since the disappearance of Cowardvore has been a resounding success and the wait is over."
"This time's different. Tricks are over. Now it's a matter of blood."
"It's time for Cowardvore and I to take the gold when we lay the hands of doom upon thee."
"It's TIME!"

Updating a story we brought you earlier, we've learned the wrestler Cowardvore has been fatally drowned.

Prey on emotions and the past. Play that game of yours.
